The AISE Project

continues to make important progress, marking a significant milestone with the successful completion of Work Package 2 (WP2) and the continuation of dissemination and training activities across partner countries.
📚 WP2 – Completion of AI Models and Platform Development
The AISE consortium has successfully completed Work Package 2 (WP2), focusing on the design, development, and validation of the AI-driven assessment engine.
Key achievements include:
• Requirement Analysis and Architecture Design
A robust technical and pedagogical framework was established to support multilingual student essay assessment across four countries. A Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture was adopted, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide more advanced and interpretable automated assessment.
• Creation of a Multilingual Dataset
A total of 2,617 student essays were collected from schools in Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, and Croatia. The essays were evaluated by teachers based on three dimensions:
- Content
- Organization
- Language
The dataset was carefully prepared through cleaning, normalization, tokenization, and semantic indexing to ensure high-quality training data.
• Benchmarking of AI Models
Four state-of-the-art LLMs were evaluated:
- GPT-4o-mini
- GPT-4.1-mini
- DeepSeek-Chat
- DeepSeek-Coder
Among them, GPT-4o-mini demonstrated the best performance, achieving high accuracy and stable inference times, making it the selected production model for the AISE platform.
The completion of WP2 marks a major technical milestone and paves the way for the final integration and evaluation of the AISE platform in real educational environments.
📍 Training Workshop in Preveza, 22/06/2026, Greece
The training workshop of the AISE project, organized by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Preveza, was successfully held with the participation of approximately 50 educators.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to explore:
• The role of Artificial Intelligence in education
• The AISE platform and its core functionalities
• Innovative teaching practices that enhance personalized learning and student support
The workshop fostered active participation, meaningful discussions, and a rich exchange of ideas, highlighting the growing interest of the educational community in modern technologies and their contribution to improving the educational process.

📚 WP3 – Educational Pilot Near Completion
Work Package 3 (WP3), focusing on the pilot implementation of the AISE platform in schools across Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, and Croatia, is now in its final phase and will be completed by 30 September 2026.
The pilot phase provides critical insights into the usability, pedagogical value, and real-world effectiveness of the AISE system.

With the successful completion of WP2 and the finalization of WP3, the AISE project enters its next important phase: evaluation, dissemination, and scientific publication.
The consortium continues to work towards developing ethical, transparent, and innovative AI tools that support teachers and empower students across Europe.
