Advancing AI-Based Assessment in European Schools
The AISE Project
“An Artificial Intelligent Platform to Support Students by Assessing Their Performance Skills through Predictive Models Created from Their Writing Skills”

continues to make strong progress towards the implementation phase, following a successful Transnational Project Meeting in Limassol, Cyprus, held from 30 October to 1 November 2025.
📍 Transnational Project Meeting – Limassol, Cyprus
The meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners, including the newly joined partner CARNET (Croatia). The sessions focused on reviewing progress, coordinating upcoming activities, and preparing for the pilot implementation phase of the project.
Key topics included:
- Project management and reporting
- Development of AI models and datasets
- Teachers’ use of the AISE platform
- Implementation of the educational study
- Dissemination and communication strategy

🤖 WP2 – AI Models & Dataset Development
University partners presented progress on:
- Dataset collection of anonymised student essays
- A hybrid AI approach combining
- Automatic Essay Scoring (AES) and
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
to support multilingual assessment
- Technical integration between the AI models and the AISE platform
The dataset collection will continue until December 2025, with full technical documentation expected by February 2026 .
👩🏫 Teachers at the Centre
A dedicated session focused on teachers’ workflows, usability, and data protection considerations. Partners discussed how educators will:
- Use the platform for formative assessment
- Interpret AI-generated feedback
- Apply common evaluation rubrics across countries
📚 WP3 – Educational Study Launch
The consortium confirmed that the educational pilot study will begin simultaneously in Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, and Croatia in late December 2025.
Key actions include:
- Local adaptation of rubrics and materials
- Teacher training
- Development of evaluation criteria and ethics protocols by IHU and DDE Prevezas
📢 WP4 – Dissemination & Impact
Partners agreed on an enhanced dissemination strategy, including:
- Regular website updates
- Active presence on Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Monthly updates and quarterly partner contributions
- One international journal paper and one conference presentation by July 2026
The consortium will also explore synergies with other Erasmus+ AI and education projects to strengthen impact and sustainability.
🤝 Working Together for Smarter Assessment
The Limassol meeting marked a key milestone as the AISE Project moves from development to real classroom implementation. The consortium reaffirmed its shared commitment to ethical, transparent, and pedagogically meaningful AI tools that support both students and teachers across Europe.
